The Media Industry Research Foundation of Finland contributes to the competitiveness of printed, electronic and content-based digital media as well as closely related activities by supporting:
The Foundation funds research projects and the publication of their results, organizes calls for applications on varying research themes and hosts the biennial Think INK innovation competition. The Foundation also supports endowed professorships, gives out dissertation and student grants and provides scholarships and travel grants to those in the field. The Foundation itself can also participate in projects. The Foundation’s operations are based on capital income and donated funds.
The Foundation has funded the Media Industry Foresight Study, Media 2035, which paints four scenarios that explore potential future trajectories for forces of change, uncertainties and disruptions in the media industry. The study offers media professionals and organisations fresh perspectives on strategy work, renewal and growth.
